• Sky Racing World launches Australian harness racing product in North America

    Sky Racing World, the Louisville, Ky.-based distributor of international horse racing content and subsidiary of Australian wagering operator Tabcorp, has launched harness racing from multiple Australian states in North America. From Oct. 7, Sky Racing World’s North American advance depositing wagering partners will offer simulcast wagering on harness racing from Australia every Sunday and Monday night.
  • Berzerker aims for Maryland Sire Stakes title

    A last-minute purchase -- at what was his first horse sale -- is still paying dividends for trainer Brandon Murray six years later. Murray, who purchased the mare Southern Viking at a sale in 2012, will send her first foal onto the track in this Wednesday’s (Oct. 3) $67,000 Maryland Sire Stakes final for 2-year-old pacing colts. The colt, Berzerker, is already a source of pride for Murray and co-owners Clifton and Wanda Murray.

    In harness racing, there aren't many things more enjoyable then when a homebred turns into a great horse. For George Leager, Slick Tony is turning into just that. The 3-year-old son of No Spin Zone out of the Cambest mare Queen Kathy showed a lot of guts on the front end Sunday (Sept. 30), taking the $12,000 Open at Rosecroft in a new lifetime mark of 1:50.2.
